Construction Specialties have been manufacturing louvres globally for over 60 years, helping to make buildings better. Utilising both local expertise and dedication to performance, compliance and design has enabled Construction Specialties to become an industry leader.
The AIRAH Awards are an industry event filled with over 250 members of Australia’s HVAC&R community, recognising the outstanding achievements and commitments of individuals and companies within the sector. By recognising achievements in innovation, sustainability and excellence in the HVAC&R design, engineering and implementation process, AIRAH encourages practices for a more sustainable environment.
Construction Specialties were proudly awarded AIRAH Product of the Year 2023 for our RS-5605 high performance louvre. This award recognises excellence in product manufacturing, taking into account innovation, energy efficiency, sustainability, originality and industry need.
The RS-5605 high performance louvre is a 131mm deep, vertically bladed aluminium performance louvre that is designed to protect buildings against wind-driven rain. In fact, our louvres are trusted by some of Australia’s largest cloud computing companies for use on Tier 4 data centres.
The RS-5605 is tested in accordance with AS/NZS standard, and also has Air Movement and Control Association Certification (AMCA), with Construction Specialties being the only Australian louvre manufacturer to hold this certification. The certification guarantees resistance to winds as high as 80 kmph that drive 203mm of water per hour, with the RS-5605 receiving a class A (99%) effectiveness rating.
Construction Specialties manufacture louvres in both of our factories based in NSW. By investing in local production and local sourcing of raw materials, this enables quicker delivery timeframes while cutting supply timeframes.
By using Construction Specialties architectural louvres, organisations can reduce energy usage by maximising airflow for downstream cooling systems, filtration, HVAC and air handling units, delivering operational and environmental savings. The louvres are manufactured from aluminium, which can be recyclable at the end of life and can be sourced from sustainable suppliers.
With knowledgeable team members across 6 states, we are able to meet with clients, specifiers and builders to help determine the right product to meet project requirements. Our approach is to be highly consultatory, making a technical, complex product like louvres easy to specify, purchase and use.
