Tentang Proyek
The Residencia Sénior Francisca Cereja is a new care home in Portugal that provides specialised care services to senior citizens in the Amiais de Cima community.
Tujuan Desain
The management of the care home were very focused on quality as well as achieving the desired look and feel within the facility. Being a new build and with the potential for damage from wheelchairs and heavy equipment moving through the corridors, the durability of their interior walls was a concern. Allowing residents to move and navigate around the facility safely and with minimal aid was also a top priority for the design team.
Penyelesaian Masalah
A range of Acrovyn Wall Protection products were chosen to meet the design goals.
For the staircases, HREB-6 bactericidal handrail in pearl grey was chosen for it’s comfortable grip and its ability to be installed in a continuous run with the use of variable angle coner adaptors.
For the corridor protection simple to install, Acrovyn SO-50 corner guards were chosen to protect the corners of walls from impact damage caused by wheelchairs and carts moving through the corridors.
HRB-20 hand/crash rails were chosen to provide a secure handhold for seniors as they move around the facility, whilst also offering a high level of impact protection for the walls. Bold, contrasting colours were chosen for the tops of the HRB-20 to aid wayfinding and standout better for residents with visual impairments.
Different, bold Acrovyn colours were chosen for each floor helping to create an easy to navigate, vibrant environment for the residents.
Finally, TP-200 rub rails in Pearl Grey were installed at low level in the corridors to protect the walls from scuffs, bumps and scrapes.
The Acrovyn Wall Protection products, along with the different colours chosen for each floor, have proven to be a cost-effective solution for improving the safety, durability, and aesthetics of the Residencia Sénior Francisca Cereja care home in Portugal.
